EXPERIENCE
Beth joined Tony Hargreaves & Partners as a solicitor in July 2022.
Beth has a prosecutorial background, previously working for the Northern Territory Director of Public Prosecutions where she regularly appeared as a solicitor advocate for the Director in summary jurisdiction pleas, bail applications, contested hearings and other criminal proceedings and instructed Crown Prosecutors in Supreme Court trials. She also frequently travelled alone to remote Indigenous communities to manage circuit courts and run contested hearings for NT Police Prosecutions.
Beth has also worked as a criminal lawyer for the Supreme Court of Victoria case managing criminal and quasi-criminal applications, a Senior Policy Officer for the Northern Territory Government and as a commercial litigation paralegal for the Crown Solicitor of New South Wales and several boutique firms.
Beth is an empathic and pragmatic practitioner with a rounded understanding of the criminal justice system, having worked in prosecution, defence and case management. She has a particular interest in sexual offences and offences against the person, and has expanded her practice into civil litigation, professional misconduct and other civil and regulatory proceedings. Beth is committed to developing great working relationships and ensuring clients and their families feel supported and informed throughout the legal process.
Beth holds a Bachelor of Criminology and Criminal Justice and a Bachelor of Laws majoring in Social Justice. She obtained her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice in 2018 and was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2019.
